See the residences of the presidentses!
Washington, D.C., is a great city for walking, AND a great city for presidential history. Throw in a little bit of comedy, and you've got Walking Backward Tours.
I'll take you around some of the city's coolest neighborhoods to show you sites that were special to D.C.'s most famous residents, the United States presidents. These are the places where they lived, partied and got shot at -- sometimes on their way to the top, sometimes while in office, and sometimes in their final years.
You'll get the best stories and trivia for each stop. I'll tell you about political battles, affairs, downfalls, comebacks and assassination attempts. Plus we'll talk about the city itself, and how it grew from a muddy mess to the center of the free world.
I'm a former stand-up comedian who accidentally became a presidential history fanatic. While driving around America telling jokes, I managed to visit almost every presidential site in the country. I read presidential biographies for fun, and I've been a resident of D.C. for more than 20 years. I love the city and I love learning about the presidents, and I want you to love it too.
